Interested in joining the ONE TO ONE Board of Directors?
ONE TO ONE’s collegial Board of Directors is not only passionate about literacy—we are dedicated to providing leadership and support to a small staff responsible for strengthening and growing this impactful program.
As we look to grow our board, we are seeking individuals with an interest in fundraising and with connections to the philanthropic, government/public sector, and/or or business communities. Previous experience with not-for-profit organizations (particularly as a director) would be an asset, as would skills relevant to governance such as legal, strategic planning and visioning, and people management.
Each director serves on at least one board committee, participates in fund-development initiatives and activities including our annual Corporate Spelling Bee, and makes an annual financial contribution that reflects their individual ability and means.
Directors participate in eight board meetings annually, including an annual general meeting in December. Board meetings are generally held at the SpencerCreo Centre (500 – 610 Main St, Vancouver) on Tuesdays at 3:30 pm, September—June. This schedule is subject to variation.
The minimum commitment for each board member is one calendar year. However, to ensure the strength and continuity of the board, we ask prospective members to consider this a long-term, multi-year commitment. We anticipate opportunities for members with requisite time and experience to step into leadership roles on the board executive.
