It seems a little ironic for a literacy society to be lost for words—but we are. The support of our community has blown us away over the past few months.
Since September, we’ve welcomed 253 volunteer tutors back into the fold and more than 107 new volunteers have joined our local program team. Hundreds more across the province dedicate their time every week to read with a struggling student. Together, we are serving 226 schools. Year after year, the enthusiasm and commitment of individuals who want to share their love of reading astounds and inspires us. What a wonderful gift to give to a child!
Since the start of our Joy of Reading campaign in November, you’ve helped ONE TO ONE raise $57,463 (surpassing our goal of $30,000!) to get more kids reading. Thank you to all of you who have donated and who have shared the news about our campaign. We are especially grateful to the Francis Family Foundation and to IGA Stores of BC for generously matching donations and to Karin Konoval for donating her beautiful artwork as gifts for our donors.
Thank you from all of us at ONE TO ONE!
